Collections Is In, Local Is Out.

Recommended Posts

Linda Buquet noticed that Google has removed the Local navigation button from Google+'s navigation menu.

Side by side's of the old menu and new one:

Stole those from Barry. Collections is the new item in the menu. I have not looked at it yet. From what I understand, they failed to conquer Facebook with Google+, so now they are copying Pinterest with Collections.

Web Hosting

I read about the Google Collections on Google News trying to ripoff Pinterest.

Typical Google, they always try to copy anything that's popular.

I just gotta say, so why not here, I do like this better than the-forum-who-cannot-be-named.

Lol... They can be named. I have no ill will towards them.  B)

I honestly wish the place was more like it was 3-4 years ago. But then if it was, I might never have started this....

How long has this site been up? (I don't wanna hijack this thread so I'll get my answer and redirect back to local SEO.)

It was up as a solely private forum since October (maybe September, I forget now). Then it was known as The SEO Pub Academy. I decided to rebrand because I teach a lot more than just SEO (working on a PPC course for example), and I do a lot more than just SEO for my clients. With the rebranding, I decided to open up a public section and move everything to a forum format. This rebranded site just launched a few weeks ago.

It's run on IP Board. Xenforo is another good one.

In my opinion, IP Board and Xenforo both feel much more modern than vBulletin. vBulletin is really starting to show its age and probably needs a redesign from the ground up.

Rock and roll. I like it. It would be funny if you ran ads on WF for this place. But, then again, no it wouldn't. I think the most fringe SEO you need around here is me.
