Just a few days left until Chrome starts displaying "Not secure" messages

Recommended Posts

If you have not yet made the change to HTTPS, you still have a few days left.

Starting in July Google Chrome will be displaying "Not secure" on any URL that is not using HTTPS.

You can easily pickup free SSL certificates these days, so there is no reason not to use it.

So apparently they didn't mean July 1st.

They said in July, but never specified a date. Everyone just assumed July 1st.

I'm not seeing it on unsecured sites right now.

Yeah I was checking some sites today because I wanted to see if they changed anything about the warning that will display since the announcement, but I don't see anything yet.

How difficult did you find the transitions?

Not difficult. A little time-consuming. I use Weebly for hosting (paid version), so migrating sites from http to https wasn't hard (once I figured out how LOL). Moving content was a pain, though.
